On Wednesday March 29, 2006, the moon will block out the sun and cast a shadow starting from Brazil and ending in Mongolia. And along its way it will pass over Libya.
Duration of the eclipse will be less than 2 minutes near the sunrise and sunset limits, but it will be as long as 4 minutes and 7 seconds in its climax in Libya, where the shadow will be 180 kilometers wide. Cloudless skies, the large stretch of total eclipse band and the unique desert environment in Libya all make it an ideal setting to witness this rare total solar eclipse.
