• Day 1 Meet guide on arrival at Tripoli airport and transfer to Al-Kabir Hotel for two nights, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

• Day 2 Sightseeing tour of Tripoli including the excellent National Museum, the Arch of Marcus Aurelius and the medina with its souks and mosques where lunch will be taken.

• Day 3 Visit the centuries-old grain store of Qasr al-Haj and the hilltop store/citadel at Nalut. Continue to Ghadames for two nights at Al-Waha Hotel.

• Day 4 Sightseeing in the enchanting oasis of Ghadames on the edge of the Sahara desert. Visit the old town with its labyrinthine passages and take lunch in a traditional house. Late afternoon excursion to see the sun set over the sand dunes.

• Day 5 Drive to Kabaw to see the fortified grain store and visit the library of the writer, Buruni. Continue to the hilltop town of Yfren and on to Gharyan to visit a troglodyte home and overnight at the Rabta Hotel.

• Day 6 Full day excursion to the magnificent site of Leptis Magna. Overnight at the Zliten Hotel in Zliten.

• Day 7 Visit the Abd al-Salaam Mosque in Zliten. Continue to the grand Roman city of Sabrata. Return to Tripoli.

• Day 8 At leisure until transfer to airport for flight home.
